I have exciting news. We launch on November 1! But first…

TEDx Berkshires hit Pittsfield two weeks ago, bringing together thought leaders from the region and beyond. It was held at the Berkshire Innovation Center, a hub for some of the most innovative solar, broadband, life sciences, and financing businesses in the region and beyond.

In Orange, LaunchSpace, a vibrant maker space and business incubator established to boost economic development in the North Quabbin region is becoming a true hub of new ideas, new businesses, and community engagement.

In Northampton, The Sphere Innovation Lab opens its unique co-working space in November. Members will get 24/7 access to the space, a free bike rental program, a professional mailing address for their business, discounts at over 15 local businesses, and can look forward to a concierge service launching in 2025.

Just this past weekend, on October 19, local businesses came through in a big way at the BreakthroughT1D.org fundraiser held in Springfield. Their support helped the organization raise over $300,000 for Type 1 Diabetes research and advocacy.

Also, the $2.8 billion Massachusetts Leads Act is set to boost many sectors; including life sciences, tourism, and advanced manufacturing.

These are just some of the stories we’re tracking as we count down to the launch of Inc 413 on November 1 (yes, we have a launch date for the Inc413 website: November 1!).

There are many big steps being taken, but we're interested in all the baby steps too.

We are also tracking a Yoga studio in Amherst that has a pay-what-you-like model, a bookshop in Easthampton, how micro-enterprises across the 413 market their wares, the growth of home-based startups, and more.

Big things are important, yes, but Inc413 is about how the small things create and feed into those bigger ones. We want to tell stories from the frontlines of small business as well as from the wings of the big-picture perspective.
